Zöllner, Eva

Eva Zöllner studierte klassisches Akkordeon in Köln und Kopenhagen und ist eine der aktivsten Akkordeonistinnen ihrer Generation. Rund um den Globus ist sie in Projekten zu erleben, die von der experimentellen Solo-Performance bis zu Konzerten mit renommierten Ensembles reichen. Schon als Studentin war sie fasziniert von den zeitgenössischen Klangwelten ihres Instruments und betrachtet die Komponisten-Interpreten-Beziehung als einen wichtige Teil ihrer Arbeit. Sie hat mehr als 250 neue Akkordeonwerke uraufgeführt und unzählige Workshops für Kompositionsstudierende an Institutionen in aller Welt geleitet. In letzter Zeit interessiert sie sich besonders für das Potenzial des Akkordeons in der elektroakustischen Musik und in verschiedenen kammermusikalischen Besetzungen. Eva Zöllner lebt im Westerwald und reist um die Welt, um ihr Instrument in verschiedenen Kulturen und Kontexten zu erkunden.

Eva Zöllner studied classical accordion in Cologne and Copenhagen and is one of the most active accordionists of her generation. She performs all around the globe in projects ranging from experimental solo performances to concerts with renowned ensembles. Already as a student she was fascinated by the contemporary sound worlds of her instrument and considers composer-performer relationships the most inspiring part of her professional work. She has premiered more than 250 new accordion works and conducted countless workshops for composition students at institutions all around the world. Lately she is particularly interested in the potential of the accordion within electroacoustic music and in various chamber music settings. Eva is based in Germany and lives as a nomadic musician, travelling around the world to explore her instrument in different cultures and contexts.
